RT.5b/4d - Future Network Developments and Architectures

The CEU Technology Platform “SmartGrids” has identified a wide range of technologies and developments that will be implemented on distribution networks provided that an economic case can be made for their use. In many cases the technology is available and it is now for Distribution Companies to find cost-effective implementation routes. Key topics will be smart metering and energy management systems, energy storage and integration of load management into network operating regimes.
